How Bank Statement Converter handles statement PDFs, quotas, and deletion (≤ 24 hours).

Statement files

Deletion window: we delete uploaded statement files after processing, or within ≤ 24 hours, whichever comes first. Text-layer conversion runs in your browser and does not upload the PDF to our servers.

When a production text-layer or cloud OCR path is enabled:

  • Text-layer extraction may run in the browser (file stays on device) or briefly on a worker for conversion.
  • Scanned statements use a labeled cloud OCR path (for example Azure Document Intelligence). That path uploads the file for processing and is never silent.
  • Files on our side are deleted after processing or within ≤ 24 hours.

Free quota

The free tier is 5 pages / 24 hours without login. Quota state for soft-MVP is stored in your browser (localStorage). We may later move quota to a server-side anonymous token; the page limits stay the same unless pricing changes are announced.

Account and payments

Accounts are optional. Paid unlocks (QBO / OFX / QFX) checkout through Waffo when live. Payment card data is handled by the payment provider — we do not store full card numbers.

What we collect

  1. Usage / device — coarse analytics and error logs when enabled (browser, path, timing). Not the contents of your statement rows unless needed to debug a failure you report.
  2. Optional account — email and profile if you sign in.
  3. Cookies — preference / consent cookies when the consent banner is on.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We may share limited data with processors (hosting, OCR, payments) under contracts, or when required by law.

Your rights

You may request access or deletion of account data by contacting us through the site. Statement files follow the ≤ 24 hour deletion rule above.
